I love the usic from GW and even got the upgraded music packs. But yeah, Propheices is by far my favorite. I like the others, but you can't beat the music in Pre IMHO.

Speak for yourself, some of us have much longer attention spans & patience.
I've been playing since it was released, I hate playing without the in-game music & sounds. They are just as much a part of the game to me as the graphics. I have the bonus music packs installed so it's not as repetitive, but either way it's great.

I'm not sure what listening to the same tunes on repeat has to do with patience and attention span.. If anything, music gets *more* repetitive if you're constantly "attentive" towards it. Kinda unneccesary to lash out and ninja-insult my attention span over our preferences in music, isn't it? :/
I still play with sounds on, I feel disconnected without them, but all music gets repetitive to me. No matter how awesome the tune is, I get tired of it after listening to it for months and weeks on end for hours at the time.

I love the music. It sounds better with DirectSong, of course. (And you get more music with the purchase.)

Like all of Soule's work, it's excellent. 760 hours later and I still don't feel any need to put on something else and turn the music off, that pretty much says it all.

I love the Guild Wars music and all of Jeremy Soule other works and i have it always on.
What i don´t like in Nightfall is that the music is less catchy compared with Factions or Prophecies and that it is constantly interrupted by combat music as Shakkara said.

I bought the music expansion pack long ago. It has some really nice stuff. But overall, GW is boring to death. Sometimes I have to turn it off to avoind falling asleep. They are incredibly well composed and performed, but they are boring.
They should go something more epic, like Michael Hoenig's work on the Baldurs Gate series.
Theres games - worse by far - than GW, but they got good music (like Rappelz).

How can some of you TURN OFF the music? It's a huge part of the game. Sound and music is PART of the game. WTFFFFFFFFFF

I'm not much of a Soule fan. He gets maybe 1 great track out of 10 awfully meandering and dull ones, and for some reason the great ones don't even get frickin play in the games. It's like an unwritten law or something if Jeremy Soule makes a good tune for your game you'll only play all the junk ones during the actual game.

Lol, I know what you mean. Dynamic music is very important to the experience, IMO. But in Nightfall it is a little rough on the edges sometimes. I can understand how this annoys over time. The combat music should have been a little more subtle.
A perfect example of a game with excellent dynamic music and sound is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (or The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess). But in contrary to Guild Wars, it's not made up of pre-recorded tracks.

Anarchy Online had something similar. The music was made up of hundreds of these short snippets of basically 2 or 4 bars, and the engine pasted them together as you went. It allowed them to seamlessy change the mood of the music without just crossfading entire tunes into eachother. Pretty cool.

Always have GW music turned right down as prefer MP3's in the background or have the TV on.

The soundtrack in Guild Wars is pretty good, although Soule's best work is Icewind Dale without a doubt.
I'd purchase the extra music but I'd rather have it in cd format.
